River of a shadow
I noticed the long shadow of the tree by the fence: it reminded me of a river, like a flowing earth element that wanted to be materialized.
I cleaned up the site and filled up the shadow with small branches.
I used freshly cut long green leaves as an outline, in order to create a more contrasting visual impact.
The long fleshy texture of the leaves created a more flowing aspect to the piece, adding up to the sensation of motion.
By the time the installation was completed, the shadow has changed, but the river was flowing freely.
